Anthology Guidelines 2026
General Guidelines and Information for Submissions
We try to publish the anthology in time to receive a bulk order by Christmas each year. The cut off for submissions this year has not yet been determined.
We welcome submissions from the friends of the Guild as well as our members. We limit the publication of entries from the friends of the Guild to one entry per friend. There are no set limits for members.
We require all contributors to sign a “Request to Use Copyrighted Material” form with their initial submission.
The content restrictions for everyone are simple, no erotica, no hate or rage speech, and no gratuitous profanity. Any questionable content will be reviewed for final approval by a three member committee appointed for that purpose.
Send submissions to Pam Baker – pamela1469@gmail.com - She collects the entries and manages the production; Charles will finalize the layout and do the editing.
Limitations
There are no set limits to the number of pieces from members. We manage these “on the fly” based on the number of submissions that we receive, the perceived expectations of our readers, and the limitations of the book design.
The book is a six by nine-inch perfect-bound paperback with a maximum of 400 pages (approximately 100,000 words).
The book includes a table of contents, a one-page introduction, and a list of contributing authors with a one paragraph bio.
All prose entries should be a minimum of 300 words. These begin on an odd numbered page (the right side of the page spread) and have a three-inch white space at the top. In cases where the layout causes a blank facing page, a graphic illustration is required. We will choose an appropriate illustration (if needed) unless you supply one of your own. If you have a preferred illustration, please email it to Pam, along with documentation of the rights to use it commercially i.e. no copyright or use restrictions.
One-page poems are likely to require a graphic illustration. I will attempt to place two-page poems on a two-page spread beginning on the left (an even numbered page).
Entries longer than 10 pages (approximately 3000 words) will likely be very limited.
If you have any questions about a particular piece or idea let Pam or Charles know, I’m sure we can work something out.
